Applerock CourseHorseshoe
Bay's three superior, award-winning 18-hole golf courses were all designed by the master
architect, Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Slick Rock opened in 1972, Ram Rock in 1981 and
Applerock in 1985. While the Applerock course is the baby of the bunch, many will
argue that the best was saved for last. That was certainly the thinking of GOLF
DIGEST naming Applerock the Best New Resort Course in America.

 The
par 3, 12th hole has been ranked among the most scenic in the state by several
publications. This acclaimed par 3-signature hole at Applerock measures 179 yards
from the back tees and plays across a stretch of Lake LBJ as it curves along the
fairway. One misplaced shot might sink an entire round. |
 Jones used some of the
highest and most scenic land at Horseshoe Bay for the Applerock layout. He employed
the natural ebb and flow of the landscape with some of the greens and tees serving up
stunning views of the entire area. The elevated greens, framed by native oak and elm
trees, are a sight for a golfer's sore eyes. Applerock features more than fifty
bunkers and water coming into play on seven holes including Lake LBJ, with the greens
planted in tiff dwarf bermuda.Since
the inception, Horseshoe Bay has demanded nothing but the best and the result is highly
scenic perfection. The Applerock par 72 layout entices golfers from around the
country into coming back time and time again by offering you the splendor of the land's
